Subject: Bordiga, ultraleft, councilists

Well, I guess I was wrong about Bordiga in English. Most of it, though,
is only in French or Italian. Camatte wrote a book about him entitled
_Bordiga et la passion du communisme_ published by Spartacus (Paris).
Fredy Perlman, who died within the past couple of years, knew
Camatte and was also influenced by the Situationists. He was another
champion of 'Marx beyond Marx,' but not a Marxist. Like Camatte, he
developed an anti-civilization perspective in the 1970s.
Rather than trying to explain the ideas of these people in detail
over the Net, I'll refer you to a couple of book catalogs that contain
more info. One is AK Distribution, P.O. Box 40682, San Francisco, CA
94140-0682; 415-923-1429 (voice), 415-923-0607 (fax). The other is Left
Bank Distribution, 4142 Brooklyn NE, Seattle, WA 98105; 206-632-5870.
These outfits feature mostly anarchist material, but also have books or
pamphlets by Camatte, Castoriadis, Mattick, C.L.R. James, plus feminism,
surrealism, etc.
