Subject: Seamus Malone intro

Now this list and Nietzshe have calmed down a bit and my life is slightly
more together, I'll take the opportunity to introduce myself. I'm one of the
three moderators on Marxism, I also moderate Bakhtin and Nietzsche. I'm an
artist and theorist, engaged in the relationship between aesthetics and
politics, particularly how art can be used as a preliminary space for the
development of methods of praxis (or the pole of praxis Marx describes as
reality striving toward thought). I'm a recent grad of the Art Institute of
Chicago, and will be attending the Whitney Independent Study Program in NYC
in the fall. I have focused on Marx's early work and the Grundrisse, as well
as critical response ranging from Gramsci to Negri, Lefebvre to Deleuze,
Foucault and Althusser, Adorno to Habermas. I've been doing a lot of work on
Walter Benjamin lately as well. I am on the editorial board of P-Form
performance art magazine, (we're always looking for writers and subscribers
so write me if you're interested)
I guess that's not much of an intro, but I realize I'm going to finally have
some time to particiapate here, so I thought you should all know who I am. I
also encourage everyone interested to join the Bakhtin list and contribute as
its been slow. It is also not out of vanity that I put my name in the header,
anyone who is on the list (who can hear me) who is going to post an intro,
I'd suggest putting your name in the header, I for one save them and refer
back to them when I don't remember where someone is coming from, or I need
some juicy biographical material to flame someone. well what would you
expect from a/n (economist) from a back water school like (drunken state)
that publishes his work in a right wing mickey mouse rag like (jokey
journal). I think everyone else might find it useful to.
