Reply to Lisa:
The laws of thermodynamics set certain quantitative limits on changes in
nature of a certain kind. The conditions for kinetic equilibrium are
responsible for certain types of relative stabilities in nature.
The question about what is dialectical about it can only be answered
in the context of specific categories of processes. A dialectician would
have to say all changes and stabilities involve dialectical processes.
Dialectics does not give answers, only guidelines for investigation of
concrete processes.
