Greetings Brothers & Sisters:

A few weeks ago, students (mostly African American) at the University of
Hartford held a evening vigil in support of the Million Man March. When
the group neared one dormitory, a white student yelled racial insults and
another white student bared her behind (literally!) and "mooned" the
gathering of students. The University balked at bringing charges against
the students, so the students who were violated by these vulgar actions
brought charges against the perpetrators.

Now, the white student who "mooned" the vigil has a powerful law firm
bringing suit (for monetary damages!) against the African American
students for defamation of character!!

We need your support. We want the Universtiy and all parties involved to
know that we are not isolated, but have support of our brothers & sisters
globally, and that others are aware of this gross injustice. Please do
one or both of the following:

1. Fax a note of support to the Univ of Hartford BSU (860-768-5141)
2. send an email message expressing your concern to the president of
the University of Hartford - Humphrey Tonkin at
             tonkin-AT-uhavax.hartford.edu

Thanks/Peace

Jaleel
