Some thoughts:

Marx made MAJOR contributions to our understanding of history
and revolution, just as say Darwin and Einstein made contributions of
similar importance in their fields. But the modern theory of evolution
is not exactly the same as the theory that Darwin put forth. Evolution
is a growing scientific endevour that has had many contributors since
Darwin, some more correct than others. Likewise in the field of science
that attempts to understand history and revolution. The last great
contribution to this field came from Leon Trotsky with his theory of
uneven development. In a nutshell it states that economies, industries,
nations, history, whatever(actually all phenomenae) develop at different
rates and according to local conditions. Revolution does not happen
everywhere at once, so it is possible that revolution can occur in one
geographic location, or one industry, in advance of what may become a
general condition. I suspect that if you are still "young" you will
see revolution in your lifetime. Actually if you pay close attention
to what is happening it has quite obviously begun.
