In my several years of cyberexperience, I've noticed a pattern in which
lists get mired in squabbles, be they vicious or silly, which inspires a
fresh series of meta-list musings and complaints, and then huffy
departures. Wouldn't it be easier if people ignored stuff that bugs them -
stuff, that is, that's pointless to argue with - and instead of kvetching
about the decline of standards, said something interesting themselves?
