These texts should be either in ascii or html, but I'm willing to attempt different ways of decoding other files (or at least to offer what advice I may have) if the sender has any difficulties. They can then be advertized and summarized (and discussed) on the list itself. Among other reasons for doing this is the fact that I think it is far more likely in the long run that people will read a text on the archive than that they will read (let along decode and read) a text sent out to the list.
