As I've already noted to John privately, my comment that
the example in the Grundrisse "flies in the face of the
theory of value" was rather a facetious paraphrase of Jim Miller's
take on it. As it happens, I believe that the example is fully
consistent with the Law of Value; however, I don't believe that
the Law of Value and the Labor theory of value are one and the
same.
