From: glevy-AT-acnet.pratt.edu Date: Sat, 17 Feb 1996 09:56:21 -0500 (EST) Subject: Censorship and evasions Louis P., in typical form, has evaded the issues I raised in my post which primarily concerned: a) whether it is appropriate for us to threaten a person by appealing to their Net provider to censor their posts; and b) whether it is appropriate for "moderators" to partake in such threats. Since Louis has evaded dealing with the issues _yet again_, I will included excerpts from my previous post. IMHO, Kevin's post, although it didn't include scatalogical references, was more ominous than anything that Elsequin wrote. I gather that Kevin is, or should be, supportive of government and/or provider action to censor Net posts. Based on the above, I gather that Chris, as well, is in favor of government and/or provider censorship. <snip> --- from list marxism-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- ------------------
