No revolution is imminent and no laws, except for a minimum wage will help. Labor is the only faction that can make a clear, logical argument about wage stagnation, what causes it, and what to do about it. Non-union workers clearly benefit from unions. Anything that raises the prevailing wage is good for workers. Labor can also take anti-racism, feminism, and environmentalism out of the moralist closet and show a practical and logical connection between them and opposition to capital. The necessity of comradeship is the practical side of getting along with people. When you explain to people that there is an alternative to the competitive vision of success, they can understand the need to treat the people well who will support them in the practical struggle for good wages. When you get people to see that the interests of property for profit, and private property as THEY understand it are different, you can foster indignation at the pissing on and pissing away of our natural heritage by the greedy. Labor is the lynch-pin to socialist logic. peace, boddhisatva --- from list marxism-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- ------------------
