Louis: Yes, when I did this I was wrong. I get annoyed with PCP supporters
like the rest of people on this list who tend to identify with Trotsky on
historical questions. I have learned, however, to avoid political
confrontations with them since there is nothing to be gained. However,
when I did attempt a political confrontation, I at least took the trouble
to present some useful information about China in the 1920s. You on the
other hand seem incapable of anything but intemperate outbursts. This is
a clear sign of intellectual weakness and, worse, a kind of immaturity
that is shocking in a 42 year old man.

Jerry Levy seems to have run out of things to say on anything except
netiquette. He is somebody who has read every book on political economy
that has been written, but never contributes anything on this topic.
He took a brief sniff at the topic of crisis but quickly handed it back
to the waiter.

He complained about the level of discussion in the fascism cyberseminar
but apparently has nothing to contribute himself. Does Jerry read a
newspaper? There is a lot of discussion about the Buchanan campaign. What
does he, as a Marxist, have to say?

I view Jerry as a disruptive element right now. He is much more of a
threat to this list than any Maoist. I may disagree with their politics,
but at least they are saying something political. Jerry, on the other
hand, is simply burned out. He is bored with politics, history and
economics but loves to stir things up on basically non-political topics.

This is somebody who teaches economics on a college level for a living.
What a sad comment this is on the state of academia.
