Subject: The NUM (UK) President

Carlos (Sat, 24th Feb) asked:
How the President of the British Mineworkers Union is elected?

I THINK I am right in saying that Arthur Scargill was elected
BEFORE the Great Miners Strike in the '80s, but during (or after?)
that strike was made "President for Life". How this was done, I'm
not sure - nor of the reasoning behind it.

        Hope that helps.
