Subject: Learning to Labor

Jon:
------
I'm almost finished reading this book (_Learning to Labor_ by Paul Willis,
1978) and happen to think it's great. I idly wonder if anyone agreed or
disagreed with this judgment.

I think that this was Willis' PhD thesis from the Birmingham Centre for
Contemporary Cultural Studies. Sadly I think it's long out of print.

Leo:
------
It is generally recognized to be a minor classic in its field. After many
years of having no copies, I was able to obtain a copy from a new printing
last year. The edition I have is published by Columbia University Press, and
others interested in it could probably obtain their own copies from the same
source.
