		Mr. Henwood, et al,

I address this to Mr. Henwood because I know he always has figures at
hand.

My question is whether there is a measure of how much actual
investment capital goes in to the economy per annum. Related to this - Is
there a measure of the average age and/or number of holders of an average
share of stock on the NYSE?

My purpose in asking is to try and get a handle on the actual amounts
of capital that a socialist state would have to be able to supply (or
foster). Also, I think we should be able to counter the myth that most
capitalists "invest" money with their holdings. If we could look at the age
of stocks we could have some quantifiable handle on how much capital actually
goes to fuel production versus how much is pure speculation.

I'm afraid our usual approach of condemning all capital bereaves us
of tools in both analysis and the argument against capitalism.

	peace
