 Jon Flanders:

  I don't mean to start a big debate that may already have taken place, but I
just want to say that not everybody agrees with the above statement.

  How could Cuba have "betrayed" Nicaragua? By refusing to attack Florida in
response to the contra war? They were in no position of power to guarantee
Nicargua's safety, unlike a super-power like the Soviet Union.
 Cuban volunteers took the hardest jobs in the worst conditions in Nicaragua.
Cuba has nothing to apologize for on this question in my book.
