How could Cuba have "betrayed" Nicaragua? By refusing to attack Florida in response to the contra war? They were in no position of power to guarantee Nicargua's safety, unlike a super-power like the Soviet Union. Cuban volunteers took the hardest jobs in the worst conditions in Nicaragua.
