Hans Ehrbar:
>Could these people be won over to Marxism?

Not likely. First of all, with the exception of the tax protest literature
which is common, the patriots that buy into that other stuff are the same
ones that think the moon landings were faked. These are the folks that I
never told they were talking to a Marxist, because they would have come
completely unglued. I have a whole file of bizarre things they have said
about Marxism. Don't we have enough problems? Let the Christian Coalition
have them.

The more sensible militia members have their own ways of dealing with these
"bh types" to ameliorate their fears and tendency toward panic. I'd forget
them and first concentrate on the larger group of mainstream militias who are
best described as libertarians. They are generally open to talking to
leftists who don't just want to ridicule them.

Several reasons. One raised is that though there is common ground between the
militias and the left, we have painted each other as wackos, fringe
extremists, morons, products of Satan, etc. which prevents us from
communicating. Both sides have bought into an exaggerated condemnation of the
other. This only helps the ruling class which has no ideology at all, save
greed and maintaining power.
