 Jon Flanders:

I don't have scientific statistics. I do know that everywhere I have worked
in the last 20 years or so, I ran into Christian right types. Also just devout
Christians, like a machinist I work with who reads the New Testament every
morning while the heavy side gang assembles itself, has coffee, etc.

The head of one of our craft unions in the shop is a hard-core anti-abortion
rights Christian. I don't know if he voted for Buchanan, but he is generally
the most tied into management co-operation schemes.
So, anecdotally, I say that there are plenty of working class Christians who
attempt home schooling. The conductor I mentioned was working 60 hours a week,
so his wife could stay home.

Maybe someone has some hard figures.

 Best, Jon Flanders
