re-marxism pond

Over the past few days, I have been reading about the Amazon. Close to 80
percent of the terrestrial species of animals and plants live in the rain
forest.

I myself live in a city on the edge of a rain forest - Vancouver, Canada. I
have lived here for less than a year - but long enough to recognize different
shades of green.

I was drawn to the Peru thread by the AI reports & the questions they posed
in regard to international solidarity.

I had hoped that the thread, or at least a few strands of it, would lead me
>from the virtual to the concrete.

It seems, however, that at the present time the Peru thread is not the proper
forum for discussing issues other than those directly related to the
righteousness or perfidy of the PCP.

I don't feel I have anything to contribute to this line of inquiry other than
a sense of scepticism - which is appreciated by no one.

Is that it? I asked a month ago. For the meantime, I've concluded, apparently
it is.

At the same time, I have learnt that "Marxism pond" can sustain many forms of
life - not only the ruby red fish of the revolution, but also the common loon
(often mistaken for a sitting duck) - to say nothing of the spiders weaving
their dialectical webs.

I feel it's time to come up for air.

regards,
luftmensch

p.s.

BTW, when no one came forward to translate the ICCHRLA document, I checked
with ICCHRLA by email and was told that the document is not available in
English. Interestingly enough, ICCHRLA held a symposium on the Andes in
Quebec at the beginning of March...
