Dear Louis,

 Thanks! Excellent report on the  AFL/CIOs posturing in defense of the working
man.

But this is  what capitalist labor lieutenants do well, and it goes with their
territory
of official  merchandizers of labor power and a "labor' police force to dupe the
workers and get them to accept  the  wages system, the law and order crap, and
all the ugly nationalism that they spew out every time they demand the workers
suck up to the flag when they get their next pay and benefit cuts and
concessions.
In this, support for the Democrats (and even sucking up to Republicans
"especially in time of crisis") is part of their designated division of labor
for the capitalist state.

Sweeney and Trumka & co. differ only in style of lying and covering up for the
rich.
Here in LA. Trumka was feted (really fetid!!) along with a cabal of leftists a
couple weeks ago and promoted as "a militant labor leader". This would be news
to the miners in "his" union, UMW. Time and again, he has knifed miners who have
risen in mass struggles against the coal bosses and the state from the Pittston
mines back to Massey mines and back further. Over a score of workers from UMW
are still today serving 25-40  year prison terms for defending pciket lines
(EG, the Thornsbury Bros. and their associates,)  and smashing up scab-cop
attacks during strikes . Trumka has collaborated with the state and has ditched
them all. 
 All UMW aid has been also cut from their families per ukases of Trumka ! So
"militant  " fat ass Trumka can turn  more dues $$ over to the Democrats!. A
real fighter for labor, say the  SWP, Organizer, CPUSA, Labor Notes, DSA , FSP,
SA  and other cheesehound outfits. 

Also let those LPA apologists explain how their "keynote speaker" and
"supporter'
Gil Cedillo,  Secretary of the 39,000 member LA County workers SEIU#660 can
bogart the floor of their Nov '95 LPA Conf. in LA and then turn over all his
COPE monies to typical  labor faker support of Democrats in '96. Some of these
Democrats voted with the GOP in Sacramento last year to pull more $$$ from
County Property taxes to the state   which helped pave the way for 2,700 of the
SEIU  Local 660 & 535 workers to be sacked in Nov '95.
More "victories" of the "new" leadership of the AFL/CIO for its left appendages
to promote? Yes , like the British victory at Dunkirk and the USA victory at
Pearl Harbor!!!!!

The workers will have to organize their own  class combat groups and struggles
against capital from below against the bosses and the union apparatus to win
any gains in our epoch.
