Probably the meat will be found to >be safe to sell as canned meat in the third world, so I think that we >will hear more about this as time passes. BTW, have you ever read the >Jungle written by Upton Sinclair in the early years of the 20th century. >Theodore Roosevelt read it and that lead to the regulation of the meat >industry in the USA. > Hi, No i havn,t read the book. And yes this appears to be something that could be pretty big. However the left appears to be taking this as some sort of big stupid debate instead confronting the issues raised as a call to action and learning about this rotten decaying system. At the conference in Turin it appears that the European capitalists to a certain degree understand how something so central as meat on the table can cause very serious consequences. Despite the fact that they are quietly wringing their hands in pure rapture that the English have a real problem. In the end it appears that the line will be that the taxpayers on the European level will pay the costs or at least the costs of keeping the meat market from collapsing, however at the same time of this "solidarity" crap is going on, keep Major on his knees and force a compromise from the English on the European monetary system. It is really going to be interesting to see how all the actors use this especially the Germans and the french who at present they have in their pocket.. But also the left who appear to not understand politics at all. But are blubbering about the pros and cons of the desease itself. I mean what differnce does it make whether workers die because of BSE or not. The point being that a lot of workers are being fooled into beleiving that" our goverments" will take care of this. I really hate these fake socialists who really can,t see politics has a real living force that has consequences for real living people especially workers and the poor. I also hope that people start taking the stuff around this question more seriously because it could and should be a real explosive question... Warm Regards Robert PS: I am removing your name and sending this in to the marxist list... --- from list marxism-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
