This is precisely why it's wrong to use the term "militias" recklessly.
U.S. liberals use this word, with its fascist connotations, to describe a
variety of social rebels, from anti-corporate types who are potential
recruits for a broadly left alliance, to truly fascist scum. Lots of
liberal organizations have every reason to confuse these distinctions;
there's no better way to raise money than to scare upscale socially
tolerant suburbanites into thinking the brownshirts are on the march.
