Subject: GE Plant Brings May Day to Life

At approximately 12:01 am (EST) this morning, a General Electric Turbine
Plant in Massachusetts heard their regularly scheduled public address
program pre-empted by the sounds of the "Internationale", effusively
performed by the Red Army Chorus.

The handful of middle managers on duty tried to gain entry to the sound
room, which had been mysteriously locked by breaking off a pass key. It was
fully 20 minutes before the door was finally opened, during which time all
were treated to an encore presentation of the international workers' anthem,
punctuated at regular intervals by the oaths of the night supervisor, his
futile bangings reverberating throughout the half-empty plant.

The shop steward for Millwrights Local 1121 promised to investigate.

Happy May Day to all.

Louis Godena
