What really grates is the easy malevolence of passing people like Benny
Hill off as humorists, not to mention the cynical depravity of those who
force-feed Masterpiece Theater to Americans desperate for culture. The
state of humor in Britain seems even lower than that in the US, which must
make it the lowest in the world.

Right. Everyone knows those dumb Latins are no good for anything but
