OK..A deformed workers state is basically the term used by "Trotskyists" in 
defining those states China,Cuba for example where workers revolutions did 
not take place. But a revolutionary overthrow of the capitalists did take 
place..

Deformed in the sense of the Russian revolution where a real workers 
revolution did take place. Thus the former Soviet Union is called by 
"Trotskyists" a degenerated workers state..

That is the short version..

Obviously because "Trotskyists" believe that there is a big difference 
between these states and imperialist states. And obviously the imperialist 
thought so also. That is what this old historical period is about...

Unfortunately the state capitalists do not agree with this. That is the 
reason why our tactics in relation to these states are quite different..But 
also in other areas where Neil with his analisis starts on the trade unions 
and everything else it appears.He draws a line, steps over it and starts 
screaming workers power. That will hardly change things..

I think that if you can not see the differences and contradictions 
historically and defend these positions against imperialism or in fact trade 
union struggle, it will be difficult to fight in the future.

Finally you know that Trotskyists call for political revolutions in these 
states.This in order to oust the reactionary bureaucratic parties that 
prevent a way forward for the proletariat...
