I forgot, as should be obvious to anybody following my posts, to add quotes and the explicit distinction between imperialist state terrorists and nationalist guerrillas. However, it would be nice if Gary would comment on the important point I'm trying to make about the value to an oppressor nation of rotten, unstable, dysfunctional buffer zones between them and the rest of the world. Cheers, Hugh PS As for building a 'Broad left culture' in Australia, I'd concentrate on building a Marxist milieu instead. The broad left is a sick mishmash of reformism. At its best it approaches revisionism and centrism. Go Marxist (by your own lights) and you'll be able to hold your head up. Go broad left and the quicksand'll suck you under. --- from list marxism-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu ---
