Hello Romi:  are you Rahul's wife?  Welcome to this list!

Regarding your question about the lack of knowledge about or interest
in India, it must be noted first that public opinion is highly
propagandized, and anything that is not an immediate threat to or
strategically useful for US Imperialism is given short shrift.

Among Marxists there is perhaps the additional prejudice that
India, unlike China, did not make the revolution.
