Addendum:

Chris (or Paul) - what's your answer to the following.

The epistomological relationship between Euclidean and non-Euclidean
geometries is different than the epistomological relationship between Newton
and Einstein's theories?

Also, do you think mathematics and physics (plus chemistry etc.) are
sub-categories of the general category of science - on the same level, just
different subjects?

The Guzman quote implies that Guzman says yes to both. I say no to both.

>From which, for me, follows that the fact mathematics is a subjective
construction does not allow us to draw conclusions as such from mathematics:

>"The space-time continuum
>>does not constitute a reference system on the basis of which one
>>can build unvarying natural laws."

If this is to be claimed, it must be supported otherwise. Somebody should
argue how the theory of relativity, the other cited basis of the conclusion,
supports this. Do you think theory of relativity says we have different sets
of natural laws? Then *does* god play dice with the universe, as the
originator of the theory of relativity protested otherwise?

Zeynep
