I intend to agree with you about the decline of the so called "left".
However the ultra leftism of Neil, the anarchists, i think also Luis Quispe
is also getting into some of this stuff, is in fact a real danger. However
worth argueing because these people i think actually want to make a
revolution unlike Aldolfo or Louis!

In Neil,s case he applies right wing state capitalist ideology to the
tactics of ultra left communists. Strange mixture. In fact the tactics for
Neil are no tactics at all! Trade unions should be smashed, never any
electoral support to reformists and centrists parties, build the struggle
independently outside of and against everything and all is the bottom line
of Neil and his group.

For the Anarchists, at least the leftwing anarchists it is much of the same.

For Quispe, his recent articles on "elections" which puts any kind of
participation in the electoral process outside of communist tactics is also
and ultra left tactic. Naturally in Luis,s case it is linked to the pick up
the gun rgetoric in Peru as the only viable alternative in the future. In
fact, exactly the opposite is the case. Mao would have never succeeded if
not the International bourgeoisie had destroyed a good part of the
imperialist Europe and Japan opening the way for a peasant red army led by
Mao to finally take power in China. And i doubt that any victory in Peru is
possible without huge support in the United states and against imperialist
support to the Fujimora regime linked to workers revolutions throughout
Latin America led by Trotskyist parties..

Also in the future armed struggle in the third world will depend on what
happens in the industrial countries. In fact victory for these struggles
depends on it..And not in any of the pipedreams of the local maoists..

Yes there are new and younger elements coming along who question the old
leaderships, especially the Social democratic and former Stalinist
leaderships. This is good. But to make the same mistakes as the ultra lefts
made in early history is hardly going to solve their problems. In fact only
serious organising around the TP and the history of the left opposition can
show a way forward. Because most of what the ultra lefts in all the variants
talk about, has been tried and failed miserably..

Yes Neil is riding on a wave of anti union and anti Stalinist propaganda
which mainly is flamed by bourgeois journalists in making the claim that it
just doesn,t work. But to block with the right as the state caps do against
the reformists and the centrists but also the revolutionary Trotskyists is
criminal and playing into the hands of counter-revolution. Despite the
"left" rhetoric..

>main
>danger for them is that they will laugh themselves to death!

You are beginning to sound like Louis here Neil! Ultimitely Louis does it
>from his Menshevik trajectory and you are doing it in the name of state
capitalism and mindless ultra left activism. In fact the Trotskyist current,
its ideas. and program have been around for a while and that is the reason
that this list goes berserk every time Trotskyists use this tool in tearing
apart their bankrupt politics and ideologies which are hardly new but a
rehash in a deformed way of all the old arguements.

>Communists should be positing a programme of intervention in the class motions
>workers building their own mass actions, a new party of struggle, workers
>control, revolution and communism. Malecki thinks all that is just
>'ultra-left' and 'anarchism'.

Communists should be fighting for the TP and the tactics of the first four
congresses of the Third International and the founding documements of the
Fourth International.
All of the above are involved plus lots of other tactics neccessary for
fighting for the dictatorship of the Proletariat. And these are in fact
counterposed to the Social Democrats, Stalinists, Maoists, Anarchists and
State capitalists ideologies which have been tested in battle and failed
miserably. In fact there is hardly anything new under the sun.

PS: Recently Hugh asked our Turkish leftists what there position is on
events in Crete. This can also be posed to our Peruvian Maoists in the
border conflicts with Equador for example. I think that both of these
subjects are worth a comment by the parties who so clearly claim to be the
leading representatives of the "left" in these countries. So how about
presenting to the list your views on these
potential hotspots which can led to tens of thousands if not more workers
getting slaughtered once again..
