The Church as an institution is different from religious people as
individuals and in smaller, informal groups. The hierarchy of the Roman
Catholic church is a reactionary horror. But there are many excellent
people further down, people whom I don't agree with on everything, but
passionate socialists and social democrats. It's like unions, at least in
America - the leadership is rotten, but at the local level the people can
be fine examples of the organized working class.

Nice damn art they have in the Vatican though.
