    My query is as follows:

    Would Rakesh have written this fine post, and generated such
an important thread (I hope we keep it up), had he not been
provoked by MIM's grotesqueries?

        This is why I continue to fear, even while provisionally
supporting, a moderated list or lists? I have subbed, and unsubbed,
twice to m2, and it was dull dull dull--for the most part even the
posters who I know from m1 are NOT dull turn dull on m2.

        The possibility of formal moderation dulling a list is at
least real enough to keep in mind as we proceed to generate new
and moderated lists.
