    Siddharth is correct in saying that Engels at first approved
the conquest of Algeria--but if I remember correctly, he and
Marx both lived to condemn Western colonialism root and branch,
arguing that ultimately there was nothing progressive about it.
Their change of mind on this is a model for communist non-
dogmatism.
