Subject: Frances Reaction to the US Bombing of Iraq

Statement from the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

"L'Iraq n'a pas viole les resolutions
de l'ONU en intervenant militairement 
dan le Kurdistan."

Iraq has not violated UN resolutions
by its military interventions
in Kurdistan.

They add:

"L'Irak est partout chez elle et
cette intervention fait suite a une
demande ecrite d'un des plus importantes
movements kurdes."

Iraq is on its own soil and
this intervention is a response to
a written request from one of the most important
Kurdish political factions.




If imperialist France 
(managed by a conservative government) 
does not support this move, then there can
be little doubt concerning its illegality;
especially given fairly consistent 
French support of the entire Gulf War 
enterprise.
