 Jon Flanders:

Surely you would not deny people of a particular tendency to have their own
list would you? There are a zillion an one lists on the Internet on every
conceivable subject. Now there will be another one for non-stalinists
discussing unity. Big deal, not.

There is going to be a general list that is unmoderated, and a moderated list
that limits posts to three a day. If you use the general list, and stay within
the bounds of the moderated list, you can continue, and even expand the number
of your remarks.

I personally favor a list that limits the number of posts. An unlimited
list is fine for those like you that have the time to spend on it. A lot of
other people might prefer something that one could keep up with on a daily
basis and be able to do the other things that life demands of us.

You talk of exclusion, but to my mind, a list with 100 posts a day excludes
time-pressed working people, among others. In addition, if this discussion is
to expand to people from non-english speaking countries, whose contributions
need translation, a list that asks some limits of individual writers will be
necessary.

Would anyone stay long at a meeting where 2 or 3 individuals commandeered
the microphone and insisted on no time limits to their remarks? Would such a
meeting be an example of workers democracy?
