How would I persuade the worker to join the strike? I'd say what you said,
that is, I'd appeal to longer range than immediate interests. I'd appeal
to solidarity as opposed to narrow self interest. But I would not regard
her belief that she might lose her job if she stayed out as mistaken, nor
think that it is not in her inherest to keep her job.
