Hello -- the Center for Campus Organizing has established a new e-mail
discussion list for campus activists who are interested in labor
organizing.

The list is called CAN-LABOR (Campus-Activists' Network for Labor
Organizing), and is facilitated by Chris Vance of Lesley College
<cvance-AT-mail.lesley.edu>. Subscription information is at the end of
this message.

WHY CAN-LABOR?

CAN-LABOR was created to fulfill a growing need for a North America-wide
discussion between labor and student activists about labor organizing,
including solidarity work.

CAN-LABOR hopes to build upon the more regional discussions within groups
like the Student Labor Action Coalition (in the Midwest), the
Student Labor Solidarity Network (in New England), the Canadian Federation
of Students, and the Democratic Socialists of America. We also hope people
who haven't yet had the opportunity to discuss labor activism on their
campuses will subscribe and contribute.

WHAT DOES CAN-LABOR DO?

CAN-LABOR provides a forum for discussing nitty-gritty, practical matters
of labor organizing, including solidarity. The discussion is open to all
people who want to trade experiences, tips, and questions and answers about
labor organizing.

We want the primary focus of CAN-LABOR to be on how you are organizing for
the long-term, not "action alerts."

HOW DO I SUBSCRIBE?

TO SUBSCRIBE, send e-mail to: canet-AT-pencil.math.missouri.edu
with a subject of "canet" whose body says ONLY:
        sub can-labor Firstname Lastname

TO UNSUBSCRIBE, send e-mail to: canet-AT-pencil.math.missouri.edu
with a subject of "canet" whose body says ONLY:
        unsub can-labor

Note: when you send these instructions to CANET, it's a good idea
to suppress your "signature"; otherwise the signature will be interpreted
   as another instruction to CANET.

This list is one of more than a dozen CANET lists. For information on
these and other discussions, and on the CANET project in general, please
send a blank e-mail message to:
        canet-info-AT-pencil.math.missouri.edu
and the information will be mailed back to you instantly.
