I don't see where you get this premise from. Yes, I agree that language is
necessarily public (or shared, or collective), but that is also a position
shared by many post-Marxists. This assertion requires some argument. (I also
remain skeptical of the value of the category postmodernist when used in this
way, ie, that there is something resembling a consensus post-modernist
argument.)
