i too have a copy, it is nearly 1000 pages.  which i have read bits of.  
it relies heavially on Lukacs.

i believe it to be very important (although surface at moments) and a very 
nice and accessible history of social struggle and transformation in a 
Hegelian\Marxian\Lukacsian tradition or mode of understanding and 
explanation.

to say the least it is certainly worth the (very cheap) $25.00 price.

i will attempt to offer some summaries from my reading.
