By the way, in Engels's defense... I do think that some of his later
correspondence are among the best clarifications of the use of dialectical
method in the social sciences.  He had answered those who were using it as
a one-dimensional formula, rather than as a conceptual tool stressing
INTER-RELATIONS between and among many factors.
