Subject: CHILEAN MINE WORKERS

URGENT: SOLIDARITY NEEDED FOR CHILEAN MINE WORKERS

Miners in the towns of Lota and Coronel are engaged in a life or death
struggle
with the government of Chile. Anarcho-Syndicalist members of Solidaridad
Obrera and the S.O.V., pro-AIT organizations, request letters of support
and
letters of protest, and also ask that comrades organize pickets and demos
in cities where Chilean embassys or consolates exist.

Mines and offices in Lota and Coronel have been occupied by the miners,
who
are fighting the attempt by the state to privitize the mines, and the
dismissal
of 97 militant workers.

Letters of support should be faxed to: Solidaridad Obrera/AIT c/o Eduardo
Torres : (56-41) 247860.
