Actually, I found myself flattened by all the long words and 
self-indulgent phraseology in the Situationist stuff. Perhaps this is 
(a) it all reads better in French, (b) I was prejudiced by who their 
fans here were, and (c) I tend to trip on minor but revealing 
details, such as the Situationist move to shut down the sound system 
at one French university in 1968 on the grounds that other people's 
speeches were boring. This seems to me to be on the level of 
self-awareness typical of pre-schoolers.
