I read The Survival of Capitalism and thought it fairly trite; no
grappling with the hard issues, no real original ideas. The Sociology of
Marx is an OK introductory book; it has the same features, but it's
introductory. I guess I've never read anything by L that struck me as
worth thinking hard about or which I found useful in my own work.
