Subject: preliminary report on marxism-international

Call it a lapse of good judgment or call it indigestion, but ...

I joined marxism-international (in digest form).

Here is my preliminary report:

(1) Ignore the written description of m-int. The reality is far different.

(2) Those of you who had the experience of being on m1 will find m-int to
    be almost identical. A real blast from the past (or should I say
    undead?). All of the old names that you grew to love and hate are
    there. It's like attending a class reunion for the sectarian and
    theory-impaired.

(3) There was one somewhat interesting post in the last digest written by
    Paul Zarembka in response to a typically absurd posting by Hugh R
    (yes, he's there as well!) re Joan Robinson. The rest of the posts were
    cyber-trash.

(4) I most heartily and enthusiastically recommend membership for the
    following:

    (a) sectarians and dogmatists of all kinds and stripes (you will feel
        quite at home on m-int);

    (b) all those who view politics as a game (warning: a large amount of
        tolerance for male hormones running wild is required);

    (c) all those who are flagrantly sadistic and/or masochistic;

    (d) all those who want to conduct a survey of international left
        sectarian organizations with a total membership of 1-5.

Jerry
