Just what *is* the problem? I get a sense that the goal is really the liquidation of m1, and m2 is being sacrificed as a sort of cover. I wish that the people who are imposing this 'solution' from above would give some thought to the structural dynamics of listserv lists. M2 isn't exactly a circle of such wit and wisdom that it will be recalled 20 years from now as one of the seeds of the Revolution, but it's much better than most of these things. What's the goal--dead or near-dead lists, like the Frankfurt one? I presume the Spoon people *do* understand listserv dynamics, and know damn good and well that marxism.two.guys.talking.about.roemer and its kin aren't going to fly. Am I wrong about the snuffing of m1 as the goal? Is it something about m2 that's got a stick up somebody's butt? If it's merely the unaesthetic nature of the m2 nomenclature, then Justin's (and others) suggestion for a mere renaming WITH THE LIST ITSELF INTACT is a good one. I realize I'm characterizing Marxism in cyberspace as a kind of delicate flower, unable to withstand transplanting, but, hey--look around at the present character and this history of what's going on here. May we have some facing of reality, please?
