Leo (and others): if you are interested in a biography of Sraffa which 
explains in great detail his intellectual and political relationship to 
Gramsci, I highly recommend:

     biographical essay_, London, Routledge, 1991

As is fitting for a biography of a person who was well-known for the 
paucity of his published writings. Potier's book is quite short (119 
pages).
