Subject: The Real Self and the Idealized Self

Anyone have any thoughts on Karen Horney's conception of
the real and idealized self via zen?

What I'm really concerned with is how her work contradicts
Freud's model of the psyche in relation to social structures
(the individual psyche is replicated in social institutions).
Specifically regarding religion. Is Horney a religionist in
psychoanalytic garb?
