Randi,

You say you have "accidentally become a post modernist, at least in terms
of explaining the social construction of identity."  Since there are many
mutually incompatible theses and theories all called "postmodern," I was
wondering what you meant.  It seems also that many of the "postmodern"
stands on the social construction of identity are defended by others who
are not called postmodernists.  If yours is among these, then you may not
have to worry about the controversy that might be raised by including
so-called "postmodern" theories in a dissertation.
