Call for Author

I am editing a volume of the Dictionary of Literary Biography dedicated to
"Twenty-first Century British Novelists." I have had the good fortune of
finding scholars to write all the entries except for one. Thus, I am seeking
someone to write a 6,000+ word entry for this volume on G.E. (Gary Edric)
Armitage (aka Robert Edric).

Armitage has written two novels under the name Armitage (A Season of Peace
and Across the Autumn) and seven as Robert Edric (Winter Garden, A New Ice Age
, Elysium, In Desolate Heaven, The Sword Cabinet, Hallowed Ground, and the Boo
k of the Heathen). In 1985, Armitage won the James Tait Black Prize for Winter
Garden and placed second for the Guardian Fiction prize the following year
for A New Ice Age. Armitage has been profiled in Contemporary Authors (vol.
121), which makes research matters a bit easier.

If you have any questions about the DLB, I’ll be happy to address them. You
can also consult the reference section of your library for copies. Currently
there are 223 volumes of the DLB in print with many more in press. For more
details about the DLB, you can also access the publisher's web site at
www.bcl-manly.com and then follow the links for the DLB. There you will find
both a style guide for editors and authors as well as a sample entry that
should give you a general but clear picture of the project.

If you have an interest in this author, let me know. I can offer you at least
six months to write the entry. Please also provide a short cv with your
response. Advanced graduate students are welcome.

Cordially,

Michael
