modern art and culture with a title along these
lines...Disappearance of Self, or something like
that.  Continuing a theme earlier ennunciated by
Ortega y Gassett.

Has anybody heard of a book by Jean Grenier
called 'Essais sur la Peinture
Contemporaine' and knows if there's an english
translation? Or if there is
an english translation of any particular essay
from that book, maybe
published in some review or other? I am
particularly looking for an essay on
the disappearance of man from art, but I don't
have its title.
