There's the character Beloved in Morrison's eponymous novel.

Also, Nicole in Fitzgerald's _Tender Is the Night_.

Harrison Ford plays an amnesia victim in some sappy movie.

Freud's _Moses and Monotheism_, which was originally intended as an
historical novel, also deals w/the subject.
