CALL FOR PAPERS

A panel to be proposed for the third annual meeting of the Modernist Studies
Association, October 12-15, 2001, Rice University, Houston, TX.


MODERNIST STUDIES IN THE DIGITAL AGE

Papers are being solicited for a panel to explore the challenges and
opportunities digital media offer to the study of modernism. We are
particularly interested in the role digital libraries can and should play in
modernist studies: What should such libraries contain? What are the tools
scholars need to make traditional and innovative use of materials when they
are in a digitized form? What are the barriers posed by existing copyright
laws? We are also interested in the ways hypertext technologies can be
integrated with digital libraries to enhance the usefulness of each.
